GREAT NEWS!

Congratulations to Shelby Gail Elsbree
17 yr. old FBA Alumnus, Shelby Elsbree, has been
offered a professional contract to dance with the
Dresden SemperOper Ballett in Dresden, Germany.
Way to go Shelby!  We are so proud of you! 

FBA Forms Partnership with Sarasota YMCA
Florida Ballet Arts Academy and the YMCA will be
working together to give the dance students
of the YMCA an opportunity to perform on a
professional stage, which they have not been able to
do in the past.  We have invited these students to
perform with us in our annual production of
"The Nutcracker"!  We are very excited to share our
stage with these young dancers.

FBA Welcomes New Hip Hop Teacher
We welcome with great excitement, Josiah Steele to
our faculty.  Mr. Steele began teaching at FBA during
our 2008 Summer Intensive program and absolutely
took the students by storm with his natural gift for
teaching and his explosive choreography!  Mr. Steele
will be teaching the Hip Hop classes for ages 9-12,
teen / adult, and Boys Only during the 2008-09 school
year.  Ms. Robyn LaPorta will teach the class for ages
5-8.
 
New Referral Program
Any student who refers a new student to our school
will receive a $25 credit to their account.  To
qualify for the credit, the referred student must
register for 2008/09 under the Semester Payment
option or the One Payment in Full option.
 
Recreational Programs Added
We have added Recreational Ballet and Interpretive
Dance among our other classes such as Hip Hop for
students who love to dance, but cannot commit the
time necessary to the traditional curriculum.  These
classes will give the students an opportunity to
continue training under the talented professionals
of FBA and will open up performing opportunities to
students who only want to dance recreationally.
 
FBA Ensemble Opens Door to Level IV Students
Beginning in 2008-09, Level IVa & Level IVb students
are invited to join the FBA Ensemble, our pre-
professional performing company.  We look forward
to the expansion of this talented group of dancers!

  
FBA SUPPORTS OUR MILITARY
FBA offers military discounts on tuition to
students who have a valid military I.D.  If a
student is active duty or retired or is the spouse/
dependent of someone who is active duty or retired,
the student is eligible for the discount.

(VAGANOVA) BALLET TRAINING IN NEW ENGLAND
The Nutmeg Conservatory is located in Torrington, CT near Litchfield, Harwinton, and Waterbury.  Nutmeg also offers classical music training.  They have year round programs as well as summer intensive programs, and offer housing for students abroad.  They train their students in the Vaganova Syllabus.

The Kintz-Mejia Academy of Ballet, conveniently located in McLean, VA near Tyson Corner and Tysons II is the foremost Vaganova training ground in the Washington D.C. metro area.  Minutes away from D.C. and Montgomery County, MD via the Beltway, this studio is worth visiting!  Linda Kintz and Mark Mejia are two of the country's most accomplished dancers, choreographers, and effective teachers.  They train their students in the Vaganova Syllabus.
